Secondary School Athletic Trainers’ Committee

 

Purpose

The purpose and objectives of the Secondary Schools Committee shall be to enhance the

quality of healthcare provided to secondary school athletes and to increase public awareness

of the athletic training profession in the secondary school setting. 

The Secondary Schools Committee will:

1)       Educate administrators, the public, and the athletes themselves regarding the

unique qualifications of Athletic Trainers as healthcare providers in the high school setting. 

2)       Strive to provide quality healthcare for all secondary athletes within District 10.

The NATA recently approved a position statement titled “The Appropriate Supervision of High School Athletic Training Student Aides.”  This document was developed by the NATA’s Secondary School Athletic Trainers’ Committee.  It was prepared as a guiding document/principle for the “Sports Medicine” course that is being prepared by the SSATC.
