Application Process for Student President and Vice President

Requirements for both President and Vice President:

Junior academic standing or above

Minimum 3.0 accumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)


Application Process:send the following to the chair of the College/University Athletic Training Students’ Committee:

  • Letter of application and goals for position (please state which position you are applying for).Limit two pages double spaced.
  • Resume 
  • Two sealed letters of recommendation - One by supervising ATC 
  • Due by May 1st


Duties of the Student President:

  • Frequent interaction with the CUATS Committee chair
  • Represent the students of District 10
  • Submit an article for publication in the NATA news Student Corner
  • Submit information to the District’s Newsletter about student activities
  • Screen and select student presenters for the Athletic Training Student Forum at the up-coming district meeting
  • Work with district and local organizers to provide and set up all audio/visual needs for presenters at the ATS Forum (within budget limitations)
  • Compile and edit all presenters’ outlines for printing of final program
  • Work with committee chair to order plagues to be given to all ATS Forum speakers at the District meeting
  • Introduce speakers and moderate the ATS Forum
  • Monitor time limits of presentations and insure timely progress of program
  • Organize and carry out “Special Activities” program at the District Meeting
  • All events and decisions must be pre-approved by the CUATS Committee chair

Duties of the Student Vice President:

  • Frequent interaction with the CUATS Committee chair
  • Represent the athletic training students of District 10
  • Help plan and organize district meeting
  • Organize and moderate the student luncheon
  • Solicit door prizes from NWATA vendors
  • Organize and carry out “Special Activities” program at the District Meeting
  • All events and decisions must be pre-approved by the CUATS Committee chair

Benefits of the Student Vice-President Position:

  • Complimentary registration at the NWATA District Meeting
  • NWATA will reimburse approved** expenses up to $250.00
  • Excellent addition to a resume/vitae
  • Improved visibility and greater networking for future job leadership opportunities


**Approved expenses:
1. Travel to and from District Meeting site
++Mileage is paid at 28 cents per mile (submit total mileage to District Secretary-Treasurer)
++ Airfare***
2.Lodging for two nights
++ NWATA will not pay for Room Service, room telephone charges or room entertainment (movies, games, etc.)
3. Meal allowance up to $30.00 per diem for food***
++ NWATA will not pay for alcoholic beverages

***Receipts must be submitted to the District Secretary-Treasurer at the meeting or within 30 days of the meeting
